Minutes of Rollingwood Women's Club Meeting Date: Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 7:00 PM Location: Home of Melissa Walk, 303 Inwood Rd Topic: How to Maximize Travel Benefits Using Your Points & Miles Meeting Proceedings: The meeting was called to order by President Pari Schacht at 7:45 PM. Attendance: No new members were announced.Pari thanked Melissa Walk for hosting and being the speaker. Upcoming Meetings: The next meeting will be The Rollingwood Women's Business Fair on March 26, 2024, at 7 PM at the home of Courtney Rhodes at 2403 Bettis Blvd. If you want to participate, please contact Marnie Fitzgerald. Bring business cards, samples, or any items you’d like to share with RWC members.An Easter egg stuffing party will be held on March 22nd from 10 AM to 2 PM at the home of Jami Bonyun, 502 Riley Rd.Easter Egg-Stravaganza & Petting Zoo will be on Saturday, March 30th, at 9 AM sharp in the Rollingwood Lower Park & Pavilion.Next, Pari shared that we would have a ballot vote on the two project requests after the members with the requests presented. Fifteen members are required to be present to vote. We had 28 members in attendance. Project Request 1: RWC Member Kelly Dixon requested $1150 for the Rollingwood Community Garden. The funds would be used for updating signage, replacing rotted wood, and adding mulch and netting. Amy Pattillo made a motion to approve, and Marnie Fitzgerald seconded the motion. Project Request 2: RWC Member Mary Elizabeth Cofer requested $600 for the Butterfly Garden in the Upper Park. The funds would be used for replacing lost plants and rejuvenating the soil. Sandra Farrell made a motion to approve, and Melissa Walk seconded the motion.Sandra Farrell asked to make an amendment to the first motion for the Community Garden. She suggested we fund the community garden except for the $500 for the signage. There was no second to the motion, so the motion died.A secret ballot vote took place with the 28 members. Both projects were approved. The Community Garden will receive a donation of $1150 from the RWC. The Butterfly Garden will receive a donation of $600 from the RWC.Pari introduced Melissa Walk to speak on maximizing travel benefits using points & miles. Melissa gave an excellent slide show presentation and answered questions from our members. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
